“Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – II Peter 1:10-11
On June 14, 2025, a man who faithfully served our Lord through over five decades of preaching the Gospel entered the very presence of Jesus Christ. Surely, he was welcomed with cheers from of a multitude of saints—a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1).
Pastor John MacArthur finished well. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7).
He lived his live a vagabond on this earth—it was not his real home. Pastor John spent his life waiting “for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God” (Hebrews 11:10). And now—he’s arrived. He is eating the fruit of the tree of life in God’s Paradise (Revelation 2:7).
Pastor John is in the perfect place—the place where there is no more sin, no more tears, no cares of the world, suffering, sorrow, or weakness. He is perfectly satisfied, fully enjoying the presence and glory of His Savior—the glory which is now revealed in Him (Romans 8:18).
Our hearts grieve with those who knew, loved, and will miss Pastor John. And we also rejoice together over the salvation of our Lord. The ministry of Jesus Christ through the co-laboring of Pastor John in preaching, writing, teaching, prayer, and so much more continues. Lost people will continue discovering salvation in Jesus Christ when they hear the Gospel through the voice of Pastor John MacArthur on Grace to You broadcasts, Family Radio, YouTube videos and more. Praise God!
So let us be inspired by the life of a man who took a stand for salvation in Jesus Christ and never backed down. Let us be grateful that God gives us models to follow—heroes of the faith. And let us praise God—for everything He does is good!
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.”
– Psalm 145:17-21
