True Rest

The Gospel announces that rest is only to be found in a [true saving] knowledge of God, because God has made us, and He has made us in such a way that we never can know rest apart from Him.
As Augustine of Hippo said so perfectly, ‘Thou hast made us for Thyself, and our souls are restless until they find their rest in Thee.’
We read in Isaiah 57:20-21, “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
There is no rest apart from a [true saving] knowledge of God.
