The fact is that Jesus didn’t have to go to the cross. Out of love, He had to become sin or a curse for each true believer. Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Mark 15:34 states, that Jesus cried out while on the cross and said “…My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” To be forever forsaken by God is one description of how terrible Hell will be.
