The Blood of Christ Avails for Sinners

Matthew 9.11: And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12: But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13: But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
God’s promises are not made to certain ages, but to all people. It has been declared by some preachers that if a person is not converted while he is young, he is not likely to be saved at all. I believe that a more bare-faced lie was never uttered in the pulpit; for I have known many who were called by God’s Spirit to Christ at forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, and even bordering on the grave at eighty. The grand promises of God in Christ are made to SINNERS AS SINNERS. And a person who is older is justified in the same way as the young. The blood of Christ avails to put away seventy years of sin as well as seventy months of sin.
