September 2026 Ministry Update
New Ways to Share the Same Unchanging Truth
For nearly 70 years, Family Radio has had a simple purpose: to proclaim the Word of God and share the hope of the Gospel with as many people as possible.
The way people consume media has changed dramatically over those years. Radio remains at the heart of our ministry, but today people also listen on their phones, stream content, watch movies, and use new technology to find answers to life's questions.
So how do we meet people where they are while remaining firmly rooted in God's Word?
Recently, Family Radio President and CEO Tom Evans sat down with COO Dave Blomsterberg to share some of what's happening behind the scenes at Family Radio—and how Loam Media is prayerfully pursuing new opportunities to reach today's listeners and the next generation.
Expanding the Reach of God's Word
Plenty is happening with the ministry you already know and love.
Family Radio recently purchased a new FM signal in Manhattan, creating another opportunity to bring biblical truth to listeners in one of the nation's largest cities.
We're also expanding our partnership with International Scripture Ministries (ISM), using available HD channels to broadcast Scripture in other languages. The partnership is currently reaching listeners in Sacramento, Jacksonville, Milwaukee, and Nashville, with hopes to expand into additional markets.
And as more people listen digitally, we're continuing to grow our specialized channels. In addition to Family Radio, listeners can enjoy Foundations, Everlight Hymns, Family Radio Christmas, and Renew Worship through the Family Radio app.
Each offers a unique listening experience, but the purpose is the same: to surround listeners with music that honors God and biblical truth that points them back to His Word.
Reaching People in New Places
Through the broader Loam Media family, we're also exploring ways to reach people who may never think to turn on Christian radio.
Loam Entertainment's first feature film, Bad Counselors, was released this summer and has continued reaching audiences through streaming on Angel. New technology is also creating opportunities like Uplift, a spiritual companion app designed to help people explore questions about Scripture and life from a biblical perspective.
These tools look very different from radio, but that's exactly the point: we want to meet people where they are with truth that points them toward Christ.
The Tools Change. The Mission Doesn't.
Romans 10:17 reminds us that, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
Whether God's Word reaches someone through a radio, an app, a digital channel, or another form of media, God is the One who gives the increase and brings life through His Word. What a privilege that He allows us—and you—to participate in that work.
Thank you for praying, giving, and coming alongside Family Radio. As we strengthen the ministry you know and love and prayerfully explore new ways to reach more people, please pray that God gives us wisdom, keeps us faithful to His Word, and helps us steward every opportunity well.
The platforms may change, but the message never will.
