Pack a Shoebox. Share the Gospel. Change a Life.

This summer, Family Radio listeners did something incredible.

Through your generosity, more than 10,000 children were given the opportunity to participate in The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship program from Samaritan’s Purse that helps children learn more about Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover what it means to follow Him.

Now, we have another opportunity to reach the next group of children with the hope of the Gospel—and it starts with a shoebox.

A Simple Shoebox with an Eternal Purpose

Throughout October, Family Radio is partnering with Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, to encourage listeners across the country to pack shoebox gifts in preparation for drop-off at participating churches and collection locations next month. 

If you aren’t able to pack a shoebox in person, you can build one online from home! Simply choose the gifts you’d like to include, and Operation Christmas Child will take care of packing and delivering your shoebox to a child.

Each shoebox can be filled with simple gifts—a special toy, school supplies, personal care items, and other surprises. But what makes these boxes so meaningful is the opportunity they create to share something far greater than what can fit inside a box: the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We can see that impact in the story of children and families in Ukraine. As local churches ministered to families displaced by war, Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes provided moments of joy while also opening doors for churches to share the Gospel. Children heard about Jesus in their own language and were invited to continue learning about Him through The Greatest Journey.

As Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are distributed around the world, children have the opportunity to hear the Gospel.  After receiving their shoebox, many are then invited to participate in The Greatest Journey, the very discipleship program Family Radio listeners helped provide for more than 10,000 children this past July.

The generosity you showed this summer can continue as we help reach the next group of children.

Generosity That Points to Jesus

Packing a shoebox is also a wonderful opportunity to involve your children, grandchildren, small group, or church family. As you choose items to give, you can talk about why we give: not simply because someone is in need, but because God has generously given to us.

A shoebox may seem like a small thing. But in God's hands, a simple act of generosity can open a door for a child to hear about Jesus, experience His love, and begin a journey of discovering the truth of His Word.

And that is why this partnership is so close to the heart of Family Radio’s mission. Every day, we seek to proclaim the Gospel, faithfully share the truth of Scripture, and help people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse, that mission extends beyond the radio, app, and speakers in our homes to children and families around the world.

Pack Your Shoebox This Month!

Join Family Radio this October by packing an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. During collection week, November 16-23, take your completed box to a participating church or collection location.

Together, we can demonstrate generosity, share the hope of the Gospel, and help give even more children the opportunity to take The Greatest Journey.
