In times of trial, we are reminded of the words in Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Right now, our hearts are heavy for the communities in Jamaica experiencing devastation from Hurricane Melissa. Homes are damaged, lives disrupted, and hope tested, but we serve a God who restores and redeems.
That’s why we’re joining hands in prayer and partnership with two faithful ministries on the front lines: Samaritan’s Purse and Convoy of Hope. These organizations embody the love of Christ through tangible acts of mercy—distributing clean water, providing shelter, offering medical aid, and sharing the Gospel amid the chaos. They’re not just responding to immediate needs; they’re planting seeds of eternal hope in the hearts of those who hurt most.
We ask you, our listening family, to lift them up in prayer today:
- Pray for the safety and strength of the volunteers and staff as they serve tirelessly.
- Pray for open doors to share the Good News of Jesus with those in despair.
- Pray for supernatural provision—both in resources and in the softened hearts of donors.
As these faithful organizations are en route to serve in Jamaica, and the Lord has blessed you and put it on your heart to make a financial contribution to help these relief efforts to these vital partners, we encourage you to visit Samaritan’s Purse or Convoy of Hope to give securely. Your gifts will fuel trucks loaded with supplies, tents rising in fields, and smiles returning to children’s faces.
Together, let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you for standing with us—and with them—in this sacred work.
Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Please, pray for my brothers and sisters on the island of Jamaica.
It’s wonderful and right to pray for those who are helping the victims of Hurricane Melissa, to share the good news of the gospel, and to keep them safe, as well as ask for donations. But, shouldn’t we aliso pray specifically for the victims themselves, that God will provide comfort and healing for them, as well as salvation?
James, thank you. We are praying for opportunities to share the Gospel with those victims, and we know they find comfort and provisions through Him! The physical and spiritual provision is the goal of those who are going to serve.
