We read in Psalm 119:50 these words, “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.”
“When the believer is in a state of comfort and prosperity, he can read other books besides the Bible; but when he is in temptation, or burdened with distress, he takes himself to the Bible alone; he wants pure wine, with any mixture – this shows the worth of the Bible above all other books.”
