The resurrection of Jesus Christ is spoken of in the Bible as the act of all three persons of the Godhead.
1. of God the Father
We read in Psalm 16:10, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” And in Acts 2:23-24 we read, “Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.”
2. of Christ himself
John 2:19 states, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Also we read in John 10:18, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”
3. of the Holy Spirit
We find these words in 1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”
