Too Wonderful for Me

Nov 17, 2016

We read in Psalm 131:1, “My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.”

The Bible was written by the infinite mind of God, and as we attempt to glean from its pages, we often conclude that many of the truths recorded are too wonderful for us. And yet by God’s wonderful grace, we can beseech Him to open our understanding if He is pleased to do so.

Psalm 119:18 states “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”

We must depend completely upon the Lord for our understanding, and also realize that some matters will always be too wonderful to fully understand, and we can only stand in awe of their truth.

1 Corinthians 13:12 reminds us, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
