The common denominator of all the man-made religions and false gospels of the world is man’s “works.” It is the belief that man must do something to obtain a right standing with God. That idea is perfectly “logical” from a human perspective because we are self-centered beings.
God, however, has stated very clearly that salvation is by His grace through the faith of Christ and not by man’s “works” or efforts in any way, shape, or form.
We read in Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that [faith] not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
