In Matthew 11:26, we discover that God’s prerogative to hide or reveal truth to certain people is always according to His good pleasure: “Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.”
One learns about this with regard to salvation in Ephesians 1:5 and 9, where we read: “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will… Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself…”
Even after salvation, the believer can rest in God’s promise as set forth in Philippians 2:13, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
This continual work of grace – the operation of God – in the Christian’s life is further corroborated in 2 Thessalonians 1:11, where we read, “Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power…”
