Peace of Mind in Troubled Times

No matter who you are, you have problems. Everyone has problems. It may be financial worries, poor health, or the death of a loved one. Troubles destroy our peace of mind. Many people worry, become nervous, lose sleep, or even have an emotional breakdown. All of us need peace of mind.
And you can have peace of mind. How can I promise that? Many people think they could have peace of mind only if all their problems were solved. But no one can promise that. So how can you have peace of mind in spite of your troubles?
Philippians 4:6,7 says: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
True peace of mind comes only by having a right relationship with God.
For example, are you worried about the future? God holds the future, and it will work out for your good if you trust Him. You will still have problems, for God has not promised a “bed of roses.” But He has promised the strength to endure temptation; and most important, He has promised an eternal reward in a land without suffering or death (Romans 8:28; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Revelation 21:4).
Furthermore, all of us have sinned against God, which means you have a problem of guilt. But the Christian has peace of mind, because he knows that all his sins are forgiven. In Hebrews 8:12 God promises, “their sins … I will remember no more.”
