Glorying in the Saviour

Jan 06, 2018

DO not glory in decisions you make, in churches you have joined, in religious deeds you may have performed; but glory only in THE LORD. Why? For he and He only is “worthy to be praised.” The Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, left heaven’s glory and came to Bethlehem as a Babe. He lived (having taken our nature) a sinless life, doing the will of God perfectly. He magnified and honored God’s Holy Law in every detail, then suffered on the cross the wrath of God which all of deserve. He thus brought in “everlasting righteousness” (Daniel 9:24). He redeemed all those He has planned to save from the curse of a broken law. He opened a fountain for all sin and uncleaness (Zech 13:1). He died for the sins of the elect and rose again for their justification (Romans 4:25). He ascended to God’s right hand, and there sat down, waiting till all His enemies should be made His footstool (Hebrews 10:12-13). And there Christ sits, bestowing salvation upon sinners, and interceding for those who “come unto God by Him” (Hebrews 7:25).

The Bible knows of only ONE SAVIOUR, “Christ the Lord.” Let us sing even now, as they sing in heaven: “Worthy is the Lamb” (Revelation 5:9-14), Yes, “worthy, worthy” is the Lord Jesus Christ – the only Saviour for sinners!

ARE you glorying in the only Saviour – the LORD JESUS CHRIST?
